Adventures in super-dating

The things us guys will do to make time with the ladies...

I wonder how many times Clark went Jitterbugging in his zoot suit after they became a couple. I'm willing to bet it's somewhere close to zero. Unless it was a cover for them to write an expose on Intergang's iron-clad grip on the underworld jitterbug criminal scene, because that obviously wouldn't count.

  2. Yeah, he's definitely dressed sharper than Lois, although isn't that a major dating faux pas?

From what I remember, you always let the lady shine a little brighter.

  3. maybe now that he's going to be single again he'll dig the old suit out of the cupboard. i know they haven't confirmed it but it's obvious that the marriage is over, i just hope the build the romance up again instead of going back to the "lois loves Superman and doesn't notice clark" status quo. we had over 60 years of that!

  4. @David- He may have left his pimp hat back at his bachelor pad, but that swinging wallet chain or watch fob more than makes up for it.

@NathanW- I'm kind of looking forward to no more marriage. The first Superman book I read as an active collector/reader was Action Comics #662 where Clark lets Lois in on his secret, so as far back as I can remember they've been together. I still think they make an awesome couple, and while I'm sad to see them no longer together, no one's breaking into my house and ripping up my back issues either...so I'll always have those.

I just made up my mind to roll with the punches come September. As long as he never goes on a walking sabbatical again, I think I can deal with whatever they throw at us.

  5. i'm a huge fan of the marriage as i feel it really humanizes Superman and makes you care about him and believe he's a real person. however i am willing to give the benefit of the doubt, as long as in the back of my mind theres hope for their relationship. i want in the upcoming man of steel film there to be at least a hint of a possible clark/lois relationship.

  6. I agree to a point, as I have long been a champion for the marriage to stay intact (as well as Action's numbering), but over the last six months I've had a change of heart.

And while I can't pin the entire blame on Grounded, it's a big factor (and an even easier target). I sat down and seriously looked at how many of the Superman books from the last three years that I've really enjoyed and looked forward to, and aside from Cornell's run, there really weren't any.

It was then that I realized that something needed to be done. Now, I'm up for just about anything that shakes up the status quo.

They just better not fuck this golden opportunity up!
